Frank OemigFrank Oemig has studied computer science at the universities of Dortmund and Bochum (Germany). After having worked in the telecommunications industry he specialised in the development of hospital information systems. In 1993 he was one of the founding members of HL7 Germany. He is an active contributor to the international HL7 community and serves as a co-chair of the HL7 Conformance SIG. Within the HL7 community Frank Oemig is probably best known as the creator of the HL7 database. This database contains the meta-information related to the HL7 standard and is used for various purposes, e.g. to detect inconsistencies within the standard itself.
